2021 Skylark Pink Belly Rosé

In 2007, we made a small amount of Rose from our Sawyer Grenache Vineyard, mainly as house wine for our families and friends. Robert, with tongue planted firmly in cheek, named it Pink Belly Rose as it emanated from our Red Belly blend. Now 15 years later, here we are, Pink Belly Rose 2021. Produced with the traditional rose methodology – whole-cluster pressed, just enough time on the skin for the pink blush color, raised in stainless steel with no secondary malolactic fermentation. Still Provencal-inspired, refreshing, bright and irresistible. A toast to a bit of fortune, however unintended.

Pale salmon color. Aromas of red cherry and strawberry, with a hint of Provencal herbs and a Meyer lemon citrus freshness. The palate is silky and polished, with the acidity tucked into the fruit providing the lengthy finish that is at once inviting and satisfying. A beautiful companion to our upcoming Spring and Summer…
