2018 Skylark Grenache is sourced from Charlie Sawyer’s beautiful vineyard high above Ukiah in Mendocino County. With clonal material sourced from Chateau de Beaucastel in Chateauneuf-du-Pape, this is one of the premier sites for Grenache in Northern California. Expertly farmed by Peter Chevalier, this classic vineyard has been our home for Grenache since the 2007 vintage. After green harvesting, the fruit is hand-picked, mainly de-stemmed and then fermented in an open top tank with daily punchdowns. After secondary fermentation in seasoned French cooperage, we bottle unfined and unfiltered with minimal intervention. 150 cases produced.

Pastel cherry. Aromatics of spiced Bing cherry and summer strawberry with a subtle forest floor complexity. The palate is pure silk, with the juicy red cherry fruit framed by completely integrated tannins. The textures caress the palate with layers of satiny fruit leading into a finish of sleek dark cherry and ripe tannin structure.
